People are getting body parts in the mail, the bodies never found. No apparent connection. The Judge has his reasons and that will make a pattern.
Apart from Frank's gift for experiencing the crimes, there is not much Millennium here, just a standard police procedural. The villain does quote devils from the Bible: "We are Legion".
Frank says "Nothing I do is magic" which is hard to believe. Again, Catherine offers to share his load but he's not having it.
Frank seems exceptionally weary at the end. Maybe the theme of "justice" wears him down.
They keep using this device of the other police resenting Frank because they don't understand him and he complicates their cases. It's plausible but if I remember they drop that after a while.
We've seen it before, but I like Frank's home office in the unfinished basement with the washing machine and storage boxes.
First appearance of C. C. H. Pounder as the Group pathologist. She has a long TV filmography; I always think of Bagdad Cafe (1987).
It's always good to see John Hawkes who has also worked a lot. I remember him best from Identity (2003), Winter's Bone (2010) and Deadwood (2004).
