Frank is godfather at his baby nephew's baptism, which made me think of Michael in The Godfather (1972): "Do you renounce Satan?"
His sister-in-law is kidnapped and Frank is not supposed to work the case. Bad times for the Black family.
Denis Villeneuve's Prisoners (2013) is similar to this episode.
Much happens:
We get first inklings that Jordan has something like her father's ability. Catherine sees it, but is she sharing with Frank? Later we see it may run in the family.
Frank's bother Tom handles the crisis poorly, which is understandable: he broods in the dark and does not care for the baby. Compare with Frank, who becomes more focused, more intense. If he lets go of that control it is going to be very bad.
The brothers share the same horror of not being able to protect their loved ones.
Some background: Tom says "That's the Black family. Try to anticipate the future so you don't have to dwell on the past".
For the first time we see Bletcher seriously angry at Frank for interfering with the case.
Frank and Peter Watts are working off the books, keeping secrets from both the police and the Millennium Group. Secrets and cabals will be important in the future.

I used to see Philip Anglim (Tom Black) and Lorena Gale (Dr. Patricia Moss) often in those days, not so much since.
We continue to get new music from Frost in every episode.
The offender sees himself in Hell.
The Black house has old-fashioned sliding pocket doors.
