Being John Malkovich (1999), directed by Spike Jonze.
You expect me to provide a plot summary? Think again, doll-face. How do I know who is looking out through those eyes? Or even mine? Paranoia? That's just what the puppeteer wants you to think! I've scuttled along these low ceilinged offices long enough and I want out!
Random thoughts:
What is that disgusting sludge on the floor of the portal?
Do you know how dangerous it is to let your wife into another man's head?
The incidental bit where Cameron Diaz bumps her head on the low ceiling and doesn't notice: that is so great.
When Malkovich goes into the portal, where is that restaurant he visits? He's obviously not in his own head at that moment. Must be JM Heaven.
The weirdest thing: Dr. Lester has a large bound and illustrated book describing the portal reincarnation scheme.
And who are all those people he's taking with him? Why? He seems to have taken over at the end, so they must be pushed down into the subconscious. Is that any way to live?
Héloïse's brothers castrated Abelard. You know that, right?
Carter Burwell score.
